Storyline: At the beginning of the Second World War, Wilfried Wils is an auxiliary police officer in Antwerp. The city is engulfed with mistrust and bloodshed. Wilfried takes care of himself, staying away from too-slick situations. In addition to the attention and material assistance he receives from Meanbeard, the German occupier, he also has the trust of Lode, Wilfried's anti-Nazi colleague and the brother of Yvette, Wilfried's love interest.
